Air-to-water, ground-source and some other heat-pump types can fall within ISDE when current requirements are met. Air-to-air systems are treated differently, so never assume eligibility from the marketing name alone.
An incentive does not show whether a unit is correctly sized. Ask for a heat-loss calculation and check emitters, hot water, electrical capacity, sound and outdoor-unit placement.
